Fall is Here!

Happy autumnal equinox! Here at the coyote project, we are cozying up inside and working on materials for educators to use in classrooms and beyond. We will be piloting the materials in the coming months, then releasing them (for free) for anyone to use.

We are also working on forthcoming updates to our research page. At this point, we have over ten years of data! We can't wait to summarize what we've found for the general public and the scientific community. Keep an eye out for research updates in the coming months.

Seasonal Notes

Now that we are headed into fall, coyotes born in the spring are older and more adventurous. You might see gangly, youthful coyotes getting the hang of city living. Be sure to haze as usual so these adolescents can grow up cautious and safe. Learn more about hazing here.

From the Reports...

In addition to sightings, we love to receive reports from people who hear coyotes. Coyotes sing and yip to communicate with one another. They might be maintaining contact with their families, identifying their territory, hoping to attract a mate, or simply celebrating being together. Learn and listen to more here.
